Have you marked your calendars for the 42nd annual Washington Antiquarian Book Fair? This time around, you can dive into our bevy of rare books, modern first editions, autographs, prints, maps, drawings, manuscripts and other amazing ephemera at the tail-end of April:
Friday, April 28th: 4pm to 8pm
Saturday, April 29th: 10am to 4pm
Don't forget that we’ll be nerding out in a brand new location this year. The magnificent, historic Sphinx Club is in the heart of downtown Washington, D.C. - just a hop, skip and jump from the McPherson Square Metro, as well as several bus lines. A paid parking garage is located in the building by entering from 13th Street NW and ample metered street parking is available on Saturday (and after rush hour on Friday).
In other news: after last year’s smashing success, Typewriter Rodeo is once again grabbing their vintage writing machines and jetting out from Austin, TX to join us! On Saturday, be sure to swing by their table, name a topic, and get an original, full-length, typewritten poem of your very own – in just three minutes. You can read more about these fabulous folks and their lightning-fast poetic talents here. Friday evening's festivities include lighting fast literary games hosted by Labyrinth Games & Puzzles.
Also: the WABF may be an annual event, but you can stay in touch with us all year long. Please join us on Facebook and Twitter to hear about the latest and greatest in all things antiquarian and otherwise. And as always, we’re eager to hear what you think of the Fair, and what treasures you hope to discover there. So please don’t hesitate to send us a Tweet (#WABF17) or post on our Facebook wall; we’d love to hear from you.
